Professor Cesare Galli, President

Prof. Galli has a degree in Veterinary Medicine, a post-doctoral experience in Cambridge (UK) from which his many interests and scientific contributions initially started in the biotechnology of reproduction, in vitro embryo production, from embryonic  stem cells to somatic cloning in bovine, equine and swine. In 1999 he obtained the first clone of an adult bull and in 2003 the first equine clone in the world. In 2008 he was awarded with the Simmet  Prize for Animal Reproduction ICAR as an evidence of his important scientific contributions. He was President of the European Embryo Transfer Association. He is managing director of Avantea and Associate Professor of Reproductive Biotechnology at the University of Bologna. He is author of over 180 publications in international scientific journals.

Dr. Giovanna Lazzari, Vice-President

She obtained her degree in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Milan and has carried out postgraduate research activity in Cambridge (UK). She has been President of the Italian Society of Embryo Transfer and of the European Association for Embryo Transfer. She is  author of over 160 scientific publications. She is Research Director of Avantea (Laboratory of Reproductive Technologies), specialised in the field of embryonic stem cells, early embryonic development and the development of alternative toxicological testing based on gametes, embryos and stem cells. She also coordinates the research relating to infertility bovine embryo in relation to genotype and the interaction between embryo and uterine environment. It has been an adjunct professor at the universities of Pisa and Bologna.

Dr. Maurizio D'Apolito

Professional Chartered Accountant  and Accounting Auditor. Graduated in Economics in 1970 at the Bocconi University of Milan. He is enrolled in the Professional Chartered Accountants Register of Cremona since 1974. He is registered in the list of Accounting Auditor and Technical Consultant of the Court of Cremona. He has been President of the Board of Auditors and Auditor of various companies. He has held positions in major insolvency procedures and has carried out many surveys in the field of accounting and administrative budget for the Courts of Cremona and Piacenza. Already director and member of the Executive Committee of Banca Popolare di Cremona, where he was Vice President. He chaired the local Order of Chartered Accountants for 8 years and was President of the Azienda Farmaceutica Municipale, in the transition from a special company to joint stock company. Expert in tax matters, company law and contracts and he has important experience in the field of special operations.

Ing. Alessia Manfredini

Assessore del Comune di Cremona con delega all’Ambiente e alla Mobilità - Economia Circolare - Protezione Civile - Infrastrutture: Viabilità, Sottosuolo, Illuminazione Pubblica.
Laureata in Ingegneria dell’Ambiente e del Territorio, ha conseguito il titolo per l'abilitazione all'esercizio della professione. Lavora al Consiglio regionale di Regione Lombardia. Funzionario su tematiche dei trasporti, dell’ambiente e dell’urbanistica, segue la commissione V Trasporti e Territorio. E’ stata consigliere comunale di maggioranza dal 2004  al 2009 e presidente della commissione ambiente. Consigliere comunale di minoranza dal 2009 al 2014 e vice presidente del Consiglio comunale. Membro dell’Assemblea provinciale.


Dr.ssa Maria Grazia Cappelli

Deputy General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce of Cremona and Financial Manager. She closely followed the start-up and development of numerous business ventures. She coordinates  innovation, research and developmental projects in province of Cremona in collaboration with the Regional Union of the Chamber of Commerce and Lombardy Region. She has a Degree in Economics from the University of Parma.
